What does each kit contain? Ten copies of a single title, an author biography, discussion questions, a list of suggested further reading, and a brochure for the database Literature Resource Center: http://www.sclibs.net/resources.aspx#Literature
How long can I keep a kit? Kits may be checked out for 8 weeks. Renewals are not allowed.
How can I reserve a kit? Reservations can be made by phone or by visiting your nearest library location.
Can my book club have a group library card? Kits will only be checked out to one member who will then be responsible for the contents. Book club cards are not available.
Where do I return the Book Club Bags? Return the bag directly to the Circulation Desk, not into the book drop. A receipt will be given to the borrower on return of the complete bag.
Are there fines for overdue Book Club Bags? Overdue fines for the Book Club Bags will be $1.00 per day with a $10.00 limit. Replacement costs of the Bags will vary as do the costs for each individual title. |
Has your book club found a great read worth sharing with sister discussion groups?
If so, consider donating used copies to the Sarasota County Library System to create a new book bag. We will honor your contribution with a book plate representing your club in each copy and a thank you on the library’s web site. Here’s how it works:
-
Collect 10 copies of the same edition (paperbacks only, please) and bring them to one of our eight library locations.
-
Indicate to the staff member accepting the books which book club or organization you represent.
-
Leave contact information for yourself or designated club member.
For more information, call 861-5000 and ask for the library book bag donation program. All book donations are tax deductible.
We are grateful for your consideration! |
